Spectrum News NY1 Announces the Anchor Lineups for Weekly Shows

Spectrum News NY1 today announced additional weekday and weekend anchors, as well as plans to launch a piece of live, three-hour news broadcast on weekend mornings this autumn. This is as part of the Spectrum News network continuing to strengthen its award-winning local news programming and coverage of New York City.

Ruschell Boone has been appointed the new anchor for “Live at Noon,” NY1’s daily news show devoted to reporting hyperlocal topics and breaking news from throughout the five boroughs, which premiered today.

Boone is a native New Yorker with Jamaican ancestors who grew up in the Bronx and Queens. She began working for NY1 in 2002 and has reported on a variety of significant events, including the 2016 Chelsea bombing and a live interview with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as she watched the results of her Democratic primary victory on NY1 live. Breaking News Anchor

Anthony Pascale has been appointed breaking news anchor, and he will be responsible for providing the most recent news headlines and breaking news stories throughout the day, Monday through Friday, throughout the day.

Pascale, who began working for NY1 in 2007, has covered a wide range of news in and around New York City, with a particular emphasis on the people, places, and events taking place on Staten Island.

Weekend Anchors

From 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, NY1 will broadcast live weekend morning news in the autumn. Shannan Ferry and Rocco Vertuccio will serve as co-anchors for the new program. In addition, beginning in the autumn, reporter Bree Driscoll will lead dayside news on Saturdays and Sundays, with Dean Meminger continuing to host weekend evening news on Saturdays.

Ferry

The ferry is an Emmy-nominated anchor and reporter who began her career at NY1 as an intern in 2012. Since then, she has had a variety of positions, including breaking news reporter, anchor, and traffic reporter, among others.

Vertuccio

Vertuccio, a native of New York City, began working for NY1 in 2009 as an anchor/reporter covering the five boroughs of the city.

Driscoll

Driscoll, who resides on Staten Island, has worked for the network since 2006, covering the five boroughs.

Meminger

Meminger, who was born in Harlem and reared in the Bronx, has been with NY1 since 1997. He also works as a criminal justice correspondent for the network.
